As someone who grew up in the local church, I have always known to recite Psalm 23 perfectly in the children's meeting on Sundays. Not only can I recite it, but I can also comfort myself in all the difficult situations by telling myself that He is my good shepherd. However, I never knew that as a shepherd, the Lord not only takes care of our outward need, but also shepherds our soul inwardly (1 Peter 1:9; 2:25). As a good shepherd, He knows what kind of soul I have; He knows that I am very complicated. In order to make me simple, He firstly brings me to green pasture so that I can enjoy Him as my everything. Then He leads me to walk on the path of righteousness, and later on He leads me to go through the valley. It is only in the valley that I can enjoy dying to my soul-life and living to God (Matthew 16:24-25)! In this valley I realize how complicated and incapable I am; however, at the same time, I enjoy Him as my all-inclusive Christ, as my everything. It is only passing through this valley that I can really enjoy His resurrection power and He can be real to me.
I thank the Lord that in the Full-Time Training I can enjoy Him as my good Shepherd everyday. He shepherds us in every way so that we can enjoy Him and experience Him as a real Person.
